5 Ways to Celebrate Love and Friendship All Year Long

In this post, you’ll discover five ways to celebrate love and friendship all year long with better relationships.

Different is not bad. It’s just different.

Discovering differences can actually be fun. You must first discover and embrace YOUR OWN personality, so you will understand why you act and react the way you do to others. It is not complicated. So, let’s make a decision to explore the differences. And to embrace the fact that you only have one piece of the puzzle and no matter how much you try to smash the wrong piece into a spot, it simply will not complete the puzzle the way the creator intended.

In this trilogy I share what I have discovered (so far). It has been a fun journey–learning about the differences has so enriched my own life, I couldn’t keep it to myself.

5 Ways to Celebrate Love and Friendship with Better Relationships

1. Respect God’s Design

FIRST of all, I believe LFYS helps us realize we are not a mistake. And that God –- on purpose — created us with our personality. LFYS helps us learn to respect that our differences are not necessarily another’s differences. We learn to respect one another. Respect doesn’t necessarily mean agreement. It means KINDNESS. We can learn to embrace our own (and also each other’s) personality differences by God’s design.

2. Choose Love

THEN, we can understand why we act and react the way we do to other people. Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be just one day It should be every day toward ALL people in our orbit. CHOOSING to love one another the way God loves us. He doesn’t change WHO we are. That’s why we wrote the Personalities in the Bible. So we can observe that God has always used imperfect vessels to do His work on earth.

3. Embrace Differences

THEN, when we learn what is “normal” behavior for each of the 4 personality types, we stop rejecting PEOPLE because of their differences; and we rather learn to embrace that they just see things through a different “lens” than we do. And, hopefully we then won’t be so prone to take things “personally”. We even stop “taking offense” because of differences. We can learn to take a step back and breathe and then enjoy what each brings to the table. Personality and Jesus will help that come alive for you. Four women—each with a different personality—answer the same questions and you get to see things through their eyes. Different by design. All individual very different pieces of the human-being puzzle.

4. Celebrate Others

THEN, we learn to celebrate the value of each of the amazing differences rather than fighting to be “right”. We seek less to BE understood, and we joyfully truly desire to understand the other. (It is kinda like a spiritual “secret weapon” to advance the Kingdom of God.)

5. Rest In God’s Love

THEN, we can actually relax in our daily Valentine journey every single day by loving others as ourselves and seeking the best for all.

It makes our BEST even BETTER. All to the Glory of God!

To be His hands and feet to draw others to Jesus for Eternity.
