Steadily Dependable
Your Word says “The Lord is the One who will go before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.” — Deut. 3:8
My Father, You are always available. You are continually, consistently, and steadily dependable in all things. You are the stability in my life. The Shepherd of the Psalms, The Suffering Servant in Isaiah. You are everything I need in every circumstance. You are the One who is MORE THAN ENOUGH. You sent Jesus and He came willingly to die so we can live with Him throughout all eternity. The Lord is our Shalom. Our Peace. But we have to CHOOSE to believe that and then live as though we believe You are all these things for us. You are amazing! You are dependable. I CHOOSE to look for You and to believe You are working in all things! You will never ever let me down. It might FEEL like it sometimes, but if I wait long enough, Your work in my life always makes sense. What a wonder You are! Thank you!
Are You Lonely?
Alone time with God is a great cure for loneliness. Are you frustrated, confused, angry? Time with God in His Word will give you the answers how to handle each situation. It might take a bit of searching, but the answers are there! He is dependable. He WILL show you the way…IF you ask Him to.
I’m sure you have heard that God is a gentleman. He will NOT push Himself on you. The days are evil. We cannot afford to go it alone. That would be a big mistake. He LONGS to help us and to show us the way (not around them, trying to avoid them) but rather…THROUGH the problems and concerns we have. He told us that in this world we will have problems. But He also promised that we can be of good cheer, because…We are NOT alone!

To meet with God daily is wisdom.
This last month has been a bit of a challenge (some good things and some not so good) and I’ve missed a whole lot of sleep. It is hard to concentrate and to read the word when your eyes are weary. So, I would set an alarm for 15 minutes to rest my eyes so I could continue to read. That helped some, but…
Two days
I actually missed my early morning quiet time with Jesus for two days straight, and that actually scared me because I know how easy it is for 2 days to turn into 2 weeks and longer. I also know that the longer we go without prayer and Bible and quiet times with Jesus, the easier it is to NOT do it at all. And then we are running on empty. And we begin to walk in the flesh with a short temper and make dumb choices. And, honestly…I should not be around people because I am not at all other-centered then. It’s all about me!
Praying friends to the rescue
I knew I was in trouble, so, I asked two friends to pray for me to get some good sleep. I knew I could count on them to do that for me. And God said YES. Glorious sleep and I am back on schedule again. That time with Jesus is like blood in my veins. I NEED that “connection” with the Holy Spirit. We SHOULD actually feel lost without it. The days are evil and satan wants to keep us all away from our Source of Peace and Wisdom. The LORD of lords. The KING of kings. The Savior of our soul!
The Word. The Source of Wisdom
God is an ever-present help in times of trouble and in good times. In His Word, He says what He does and He does what He says. You can count on Him. .He is steadily dependable. That’s why it is so important to stay in close daily contact. He created all this around us. And He knows how EVERYTHING works best. So, we are wise to consult the “MANUAL” (The Bible) and talk to the “BOSS” (God) for guidance and instruction daily. And, throughout the day!
He speaks quietly…
So we have to LISTEN carefully. Ask for His will and then obey what He directs. Take the time. Make the time. Ask friends to pray for you to be faithful in your quest. AND pray for THEM, too!
A plan
For many months many of us in our country have be praying 2 Chronicles 7:14 for our nation.
“If My people who are called by My Name
- Humble themselves
- Pray
- Seek My face
- Turn from their wicked ways
“THEN, I will
- Hear from Heaven
- Forgive their sins
- Heal their land
That is all reason enough to be diligent because our nation is in trouble, and we KNOW that He is steadily dependable and says what He will do and then does what He says He will do. And it is important to remember that it is “conditional”. We have to do our part first, and THEN He will do His part.
So, be on guard and…
“Be sober (well balanced and self-disciplined, be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion (fiercely hungry), seeking someone to devour. — -1 Peter 5:8 (Amplified)
And remember…We have nothing to fear
“Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything (every circumstance and situation) by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your (specific) request known to God. And the peace of God (that peace which reassures the heart, that peace) which transcends understanding, (that peace which stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus is yours.” –Philippians 4:6, 7 (Amplified)
God is Dependable
My Father, thank you that You are steadily dependable in all things at all times. We, too, must be steadily dependable. We know it’s time to get our houses in order because You could come at any moment. I love that Pastor David Jeremiah is teaching on the Millennium.
He says that if the “rapture” of the “church” was today, (and it seriously COULD be TODAY because nothing else needs to happen prophetically before that happens), we would be with You, My Father TODAY while the Tribulation is happening on the earth.
And then in SEVEN YEARS we could return WITH YOU for the 1,000 year reign of Christ! And THEN, through all eternity! That is astounding to think about. Help us to be READY. Help us to remain faithful and true to You as we wait for You.
As we come to Your Word in these days now, Father, help us to lay aside those things that would distract us. Help us to rest in Your goodness as we focus on WHO YOU ARE! And WHAT YOU want to do in our individual lives for Your honor and glory! So we can all take as many with us in the Rapture as possible!
Until next time, KLU GIB
