God Is X-Tatic
My Father, thank You that You are X-tatic when I make the effort and CHOOSE to spend time with You.
Your word says: “And You will seek Me and find Me when You search for Me with all of your heart.”

Our whole world is experiencing a type of breakup.
“We’re built for Christ. But when we try to fill the empty space with something else, we will never be satisfied.” – David Jeremiah
This quote has been a comfort to me for many years
“Christ is building His Kingdom with earth’s broken things. Men want only the strong and successful, the victorious, the unbroken, in building their Kingdoms; but God is the God of the unsuccessful, of those who have failed. Heaven is filling with earth’s broken lives, and there is no bruised reed that Christ cannot take and restore to glorious blessedness and beauty. He can take the life crushed by pain or sorrow and make it into a harp whose music shall be all praise. He can lift earth’s saddest failure up to Heaven’s glory.” — J. R. Miller
For years after my Mother died I searched for God. I was 12 years old. I didn’t “find” the LORD until I was about 27 years old. That is a lot of years of searching. But I searched in all the wrong places for all the wrong reasons.I wanted MY way. I wanted everything to make sense!
And then, I surrendered my life to Jesus.
I put my hand to the plow, And, with God’s mercy, have not looked back. It was worth the wait. He is my Best Friend, as well as my LORD and SAVIOR. I know that when I am happy, He is happy. When I am sad and lonely, He shows me small intimate details of His involvement in my life. He fills my empty cup. It is not automatic. I have to CHOOSE to purposely EVERY DAY seek Him. I HAVE to. Otherwise, I feel like I am drowning in sorrow.
Then, when I daily “find” Him who my heart seeks, I can actually sense His joy that – with all my sins and flaws and dumb choices – He has not given up on me. It is true. There is the sense that He is X-tatic. And I want EVERYONE to know Him like this.
Admittedly, it takes CHOOSING to make time with Him as a priority. I fail. But I also succeed. And that is what matters to Him. He is exactly what I need in every situation. He is my all in all! Then, as I go about my day, I have an overflowing awareness of of His forgiving me for my HUMANNESS. And because of that, I want to do better at the “seeking Him” the next day. I don’t feel condemned. I feel “safe”. I am loved. And so are YOU!
Thank You, my Father
It is really awesome, my Father, that You are ecstatic when I seek You and desire to spend time with You. It is hard to understand why someone as important as You would delight to spend time with me. And yet, IT IS TRUE! THANK YOU!
Beginnings and endings
The LORD has often made it clear to me that it doesn’t matter how well I BEGIN the race with God, if I don’t FINISH well. So everyday is a new beginning. With new challenges and new choices. So, I can’t slack off, or I am the one who loses out. He is always waiting for me to enter into His presence. When I neglect that, my day just seems “off”.. and He is sad. I don’t want to make the LORD JESUS sad.

Jesus is coming again. Perhaps today. Are you ready? (As a reminder to myself, I have a card on my counter to daily remind me: “Perhaps Today”)
Nothing else needs to happen before Jesus comes back for His own. His “kids”. His fully devoted followers. Does that scare you or do you have a sense of anticipation?
