God, My Father, Wants Time With Me

God, my Father, thank You that You actually LOVE to spend time with me. On my good days and on my bad days. No matter what I am doing, you are there. And You want me to realize that and to talk with You about everything that I am thinking and feeling. And You want me to make a conscious CHOICE to be aware of Your presence with me. You are guiding, leading, and nudging me toward Your perfect will for my life. You continually remind me that You WANT to bless me. That You care about every single thing that I care about.

Your word says, “The Lord your God is in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” – Zephaniah 3:17

UNconditional LOVE from God, my father

Sometimes–judging from my human experiences–it is hard to comprehend that God can even LIKE me. I can be a handful.. I can be stubborn and opinionated; and, I can be rebellious. Yet, He loves me anyway. His love is UNconditional. And I don’t have to do anything special to EARN His attention, either. That makes me feel good, because I have really “blown” it this last month in so many ways!

I am grateful He loves me and you, no matter what!

Time

Thank You, God, My Father that You want to spend time with me just because I am me—Not any “special” ME, but—just plain ‘ole Pam, ME. Besides my earthly Father, I have never been loved like that by any human. Yet, You daily give me small glimpses of that kind of human love and acceptance. And it shows up in unexpected ways.

For instance

Last week was my birthday. My friend, of about 40+ years knows that my main “Love Language” is TIME (See Gary Chapman books).

It started last year. Jo wanted to give me something for my birthday that I would value. So, she told her family that she was unavailable to them that day (my birthday) and she called to set up a time when we could visit for as long as I wanted…Uninterrupted. On the phone. (We live a great distance apart so we couldn’t visit in person.) What a thoughtful gift! She was unhurried and undistracted. It was amazing! Best gift ever!

And this year, she purposed to GIFT me TIME again for my birthday.

Love language

We are all so different. Different personalities. Different spiritual gifts. Different love languages. Yet who among us actually stops to take the effort to embrace each others’ differences. There is NOTHING so loving as that!

That’s what God does

In my cantankerous mood last month, The Creator God embraced me just as I am. Without one plea, as the song goes. AND He gave me TIME to work through the challenges I felt. It was a tough month, but we made it through—together!

Wisdom

My Father, You ARE wisdom. You know what each of us truly needs…not just what we THINK we need. You want us to grow to be mature Christ-followers. Thank You, that You give us what we need—WHEN we need it. And You give us all the TIME we need! Thank You!

Forever

And one day—perhaps today—Our Father will come and take us HOME where there are no more “grumpies”.
