When Heaven Meets Earth
Have you ever noticed when you get clear direction about something, it can seem like all hell breaks loose and you get blindsided? And you get off course?
Does that ever happen to you?
It sure does me, often…
It was time for a change
For a number of years, God had clearly directed me to close my coaching business and concentrate on writing my memoir. I finally officially shut it down January 2024.
Have you noticed that this is June 2025 and you still will not see my memoir available on Amazon? What happened?
I clearly have been disobedient. Some call it procrastination. That sounds better, but I KNEW better and I just never got around to it…I had so many “coincidences” that made it clear that…
God was clearly leading me to tell my story, not because I’m so great that people would want to read about ME, but because GOD is BIG and it is easy to get busy and forget to KLU (Keep Looking Up) for His return.
We forget to be “intentional” with every day. We forget to notice His fingerprints on EVERYTHING.

The first step
So, I did the first step 1-1/2 years ago and now…finally…this month…June, 2025, I began to write with intention.
What made the difference?
A writing buddy.
She lives in Texas and I live in Iowa. We decided to keep our “system” simple. No fancy trappings. We simply check in with each other by phone, at noon each day and pray together for our writing and whatever might be a distraction to keep us FROM it.. Monday-Friday.
We share our daily goal and make a commitment to write for the afternoon. We write 2 hours with one 5 min break. After the two hours of writing, we take a full hour break at 2 p.m. until 3 p.m., and then we write another 1-1/2 hours. Then we connect by phone again and share our accomplishments of the day and then we end in prayer for the day.
Uncomplicated.
Efficient.
Simply using the phone to check in and to pray together.
Accountability
That commitment and accountability with each other—with flexibility and grace—has made a huge difference already for both of us. Grace has been needed because LIFE happens.
Wouldn’t you know it? Over the weekend, the temperatures rose to the 90’s with HUMIDITY, and my air conditioning went out. And 4 other people in the apartment building also were suffering much worse than I was. They had absolutely NO AIR at all coming from their units. I had air – HOT air – but air circulation at least.
It was noon, and my Writing Buddy called as scheduled. We did our normal greetings, she shared blessings and goals for the day, AND THEN I asked for prayer for my air conditioner.
It was just too HOT in my apartment
(Going over the whole weekend and now on the 3rd day without air conditioning and HUMID HOT.) I’d been told it would probably be 3-5 days before they could get me a new A/C unit. I was way too hot to concentrate and write, so I went downstairs to get my mail.
When Heaven Meets Earth
That’s when Heaven met Earth.
Out of nowhere, the apartment manager said that “a strange thing just happened. Another apartment manager called and has an air conditioner that just arrived TODAY. And we can have it.” She said that *I* could have it and they would be up shortly to put it in! Zowie!
BAM! THAT WAS FAST!
My writing buddy and I had prayed together and *I* was getting a new air conditioner. Not in 3-4 days like they had told me. But that very day!!! Right after we prayed, this air conditioner was suddenly and unexpectedly available.
He lets us suffer; He does. For a little while. And then He ALWAYS answers…one way or another. Even if I had had to wait, it still would have been His answer. And ALWAYS with HIS purposes in mind. He has a BIG PICTURE PLAN and our SMALL PICTURE PLAN is all our puny brains can comprehend. Creator God is THE GOD of the Unexpected.
The air conditioner is in my apartment and is working efficiently and I even had to wrap in a blanket last evening while I was reading near the A/C unit. LOL
So, here I am, writing this in a cool apartment and I am so very grateful. My brain is no longer FRIED because of the heat and I can think and reason and type again. Heaven met earth and I was the beneficiary!

If YES, then YAY!!!! ! I am so very happy about that!
But… If not, WHY not?
He created you. He adores you. And He wants you with Him FOREVER in Heaven.
He is only a prayer conversation away, whether asking Him into your heart to reside there as Your Lord, or whether you have a need like “cooler air” so you can think…He cares! Talk to Him about anything!
Oh, how I pray you KNOW and LOVE HIM PERSONALLY!
Gratitude
I am grateful for my prayer partner writing buddy. And for my apartment manager and for the chief of maintenance for all they did to make it happen. But MOSTLY, I am grateful for my Heavenly Daddy, who always takes care of His “girls.”
