In All Your Ways Acknowledge Him

In All Your Ways Acknowledge Him, that’s what God’s Word says. So why is that so hard? Pam shares more in this post.

Here I go again, starting my day late and trying to figure it all out on my own, with only minimal time with my Creator. My Best Friend. WHY do I do that to myself sometimes?

I was distracted this morning. I had trouble concentrating. Yesterday, we had been experiencing a blizzard. Would we lose electricity/heat? (We did not!)

I only barely acknowledged Him today as I tried to catch up on some computer tasks, yet I still expected Him to make straight my paths…to make my day go smoothly.

I spent some time typing up an article for a magazine and sent it off to my author’s assistant to edit and submit for me, hoping for it to be chosen by the magazine to be published.

Thankfully, God is always with us, just waiting for us to ask for help. Do you ever have a day like that?

My Faithful Father reminded me that day…

Words from the Book of Wisdom: The Holy Bible

In All Your Ways Acknowledge Him

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Do Not Be Conformed to this World

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:2

Then later that day, I re-discovered an old poem from many many years ago. At the time, I did not know the author. It was by “anonymous” at the time. Just now I did a search for it and found out it was written by Portia Nelson.

It speaks so much of my past. (Maybe it will speak to you, too.) It reminds me that though I am not “there” yet, I have come a long way in my journey with the Lord. It reminds me that there are fewer days of “distractions” away from Jesus then when I first began to know and follow Him.

Most days now, I skip the “hole” that the poem speaks of.

This poem is a PERFECT reminder of life. It has been said that the Christian life is a series of falling down and getting up and falling down and getting up…all the way to Heaven.

“An Autobiography In Five Chapters”

Chapter 1
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost…I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter 2
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don’t see it.
I fall in, again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.
But it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to find a way out.

Chapter 3
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I fall in…it’s a habit…
But my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter 4
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter 5
I walk down a different street.

Portia Nelson

A Prayer For In All Your Ways Acknowledge Him

I pray that you are CHOOSING to walk down a “different street”, all the while, praising Him and thanking Him for not giving up on you and me.

He is amazing! To God be the Glory!
