Jesus Cares About Me

My Father, You are the choreographer of world events. My Comforter. You Care about everything and everyone. You are constantly on watch (as the Shepherd—ever watchful). The world seems so lonely sometimes; everyone is busy just trying to survive; but I can always count on You, Jesus, because You care about me.

“Your Father knows what you have need of, before you ask Him”

Matthew 6:8

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ—the Glorious Father—may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.”

Ephesians 1:17

When I was a single Mom, things were tough. We were poor. I homeschooled my kids, and I also had 3 part time jobs in Delaware: tutoring, cleaning the library after hours, and working when needed at the local Christian book store down the street.

I don’t know how I understood the blessing of tithing from my earliest Christian “baby step” days, but I do know that even in our poorest days, I was faithful to tithe on the gross amount of my earnings I didn’t have to talk myself into it. It just came off the top and went to God.

I’m so glad for the story of the widow’s mite. That story teaches me that it doesn’t matter how much we give, it is that we are a cheerful giver and we give because Jesus cares for us. We are loved.

Child Support

I received child support, but it was very small and went toward the rent. Yet, I tithed first and then I had envelops to budget the income and no matter what we needed, the money would be in the envelop Miraculously.

Sometimes I wondered if God had a printing press in the basement to print the money that just “appeared” whenever we had a need.

Missionary Speaker

Sometimes I’d reach into my coat pocket and find some money. I don’t know how it got there.

Like the day after church, we heard a missionary speak about the great need. I put our last dollars (think: widow’s mite) into the collection plate. We needed milk and bread. We always got the $4 bag of “surprises” from the food pantry but it didn’t have fresh food like bread, eggs and milk.  It was often HORRIBLE stuff in those bags, but it was food, so we didn’t have growling stomachs. That’s how I met one of my forever friends. At the food pantry. She was working there at her church to serve the poor and needy.

I’m Serious

When we got home from church, I reached into my coat pocket, and there was some “surprise” cash. God often does stuff like that for me. He has never let me down. Sometimes, it FELT like He was letting me down, but at the final hour, he would do it again! Always meeting my needs. (Not my WANTS, but my needs.)

Jesus is many things to us

He is our protector and provider. God cares about YOUR needs as much as He cares about mine. Always. And forever.

He keeps His promises

I trusted that He would keep His promise: “Give and it will be given to you, good measure, pressed down, running over…”

Running over

So far, I’ve not experienced the RUNNING OVER part, but God certainly has been full of surprise blessings from unexpected sources. And it is obviously from HIM!!

What about you?

Moving forward through the alphabet, I’m really looking forward to spending this time with you—getting to know Jesus A-Z.

Do you have any God’s Caring For You stories to share? I’d love to hear them. The word of our testimony is one of the ways to defeat satan.

Spend some extra time with Him today.

Let’s have some tea together with Jesus…

Until next time, KLU-GIB
