Mindful of Me

My Father, thank You that You are Mindful of Me…

My Father, thank You that You are Mindful of Me. Your word says: “You’ve kept track of all my wandering and my weeping. You’ve stored my many tears in Your bottle—not one will be lost. For they are all recorded in Your book of remembrance.” (Psalms 56:8)

Oh, my precious Father, You are so very aware of my pain, disappointments, hurts, and tears. I am never away from Your watchful eye. Thank You!

Suffering Hurts and is Lonely

The world searches to make sense of suffering apart from Christ. And yet, in our natural mind, suffering doesn’t make sense. It just hurts!

And yet…when you know deep down in your knower, that Jesus changes everything, you see that there is absolutely no area of our lives where Christ does not make something beautiful even from ashes…

Mind Boggling

Even though Jesus knew His disciples—His friends—were about to abandon Him, He offered them comfort. In my natural mind, it is mind-boggling how deeply He loved them. He tried to prepare them for what they were about to experience.

He told them: ”In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world!” (John 16:33)The next day, He was nailed to the Cross for you. For me.

J. R. Miller

“Christ is building His Kingdom with earth’s broken things. Men want only the strong, the successful, the victorious, the unbroken, in building their kingdoms; but God is the God of the unsuccessful, of those who have failed. Heaven is filling with earth’s broken lives, and there is no bruised reed that Christ cannot take and restore to glorious blessedness and beauty. He can take the life crushed by pain or sorrow and make it into a harp whose music shall be all praise. He can lift earth’s saddest failure up to Heaven’s glory.”

Winston Churchill

During World War II, the people of London were living in constant fear. The city was continuously bombed. The people were full of deep anxiety and actual terror. They believed that their cause was a just cause and that their army would not let them down, but the constant state of having to stay alert was wearing on them. Winston Churchill—with his strong booming voice pouring out over the airways gave them fresh heart.

“What Winston Churchill did for the English during World War II, Jesus Christ does for us. He comes to us in the midst of the struggle, when the battle is almost unbearable and the circumstances look impossible. In the voice of absolute certainty, of power and strength beyond imagining. He speaks to us of peace and gives us the encouragement we need. He raises our morale and fills us with strength.”  — David Jeremiah

It Happened Suddenly

It was a normal uneventful day when a friend got word that her son had died unexpectedly. Suddenly. I heard her wailing through my apartment walls. The sounds of unbearable sorrow and pain. What could I do? Of course I prayed, but I felt helpless. I KNEW that kind of deep sorrow myself. I wanted to do something. Anything.

It seemed like such a small gesture on my part, but I NEEDED to so SOMETHING, so, I gave her a copy of “My Father…Experiencing God’s Love A-Z”  She later told me that this very devotional thought that we are now studying—M—Mindful of Me—had reminded her of the ONE THING that is an anchor at such a time as this. She was reminded that Jesus is mindful of her. Mindful of HER. That JESUS saw her suffering. Jesus knew and understood and most of all He CARES and was suffering WITH her.

“You’ve kept track of all my wandering and my weeping. You’ve stored my many tears in Your bottle—not one will be lost. For they are all recorded in Your book of remembrance.” (Psalms 56:8)

My one small gesture had helped remind her how much she is loved. We just never know. To God be the glory.

John 14:17

“My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

My Father, Thank You That You Are Mindful Of Me

Until next time…
