Never Too Busy
My Father, You are never too busy for me. You are never too late and You are never unkind. Though others may grow weary, it doesn’t matter what time of the day or night that I cry out to You, Father, You are NEVER hurried. You are always available. No matter what, You always have time for me! Sometimes I wonder WHY are You so good to me? WHY are You only a breath away. A prayer away. And yet, it is true! Wonder of wonders! Thank You!
God Promises
“The very day I call for help, the tide of battle turns My enemies flee! This one thing I know: God is for me!” – Psalm 56:9
Anne Ortlund
“Day by day morning by morning, begin your walk with Him in the calm trust that God is at work in everything.”
EVERYTHING!
A Relationship with God
The Bible reports that: “Enoch, walked with God” (Genesis 5:24). We, too, can be like Enoch.
To walk with God is to please God. And we please God by trusting Him with our troubles.
“By coming to know Him better, we trust Him more. By trusting Him more, we please Him. By pleasing Him, we walk with Him, as Enoch did.” –Encounter with God Devotional
Hebrews 11:6
“For without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” We CHOOSE to walk in a deep abiding relationship with Him. We make the effort to be consistent and intentional. We believe He is who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will do. We learn to trust He has our best interest at heart.
That all takes time. Little by little we learn more about Him.
Philippians 3:10 (Amplified)
”For my determined purpose is that I may know Him (that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person, more strongly and more clearly)!”
How can knowing God make your life better?
As we come to know Him better and better by reading His word daily, perhaps even choosing to “tithe” a tenth of our day (by book-ending it with times in Scripture morning and evening and throughout the day). The more we observe through His word, about how He interacts with His creation, the more we can see similarities in our own lives. Application of Biblical truths begins to come naturally. There are really no shortcuts to developing a relationship with the One we love. I believe TIME is God’s main “love language”. It’s how we show HIM that we love Him. When you truly love someone, you seek every opportunity to be together. You talk to each other every chance you get. It is natural. Not forced. It is the longing of your heart.
Surrender all little by little
It is amazing thinking that the God of the Creator of EVERYTHING simply is never ever too busy for you and me. NEVER EVER will He turn you away. Even when you have failed to be all you know you “ought” to be. All you “should” be. God doesn’t live in that shudda cudda wudda world. But, He does indeed have expectations. And TIME is the biggest factor, I think. Perhaps kinda like this…
My Routine
Bedtime
When I lie down at night, He waits for me, hoping I will say a bit to Him before I drop off into dream land. Perhaps sharing a favorite moment or a sad thing that happened that day. And…I remember:
“In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for Thou alone, O LORD make me to dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8 )
It helps me settle down and before I know it, I am off to sleep.
Sleeplessness
On the nights when I awaken at midnight or 2 a.m. and can’t go back to sleep I don’t curse the darkness. Rather, He reminds me that He is waiting to speak with me. He listens to my concerns. He often brings someone to mind, so I pray for them then, knowing He is joining me in that prayer. He cares. He comforts me. Perhaps He blesses me by reminding me of a Scripture appropriate to my concern.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing!” (Isaiah 43:18-19)
Often on those sleepless hours, I get out of bed and journal or read Scripture or a favorite devotional article. And I definitely talk to Him through it all. During sleepless times–whether you realize it at the time—He is ALWAYS there with you. He never leaves you alone.
When I awaken
And after a night’s rest, when morning comes, I usually recite this verse before I even get out of bed:
“Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul. Rescue me from my enemies for I hide myself in You. Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” – Psalm 143:8-10
Any Day Now
We are all different. These are just some ideas to get your imagination going. What works for YOU? I hope you will share here your ideas about how you draw closer to Jesus.
And maybe, just maybe I’ve given you some fresh ideas to bless your time with the Savior. The LORD. The Best Friend you can ever have. He is never ever too busy for you.
Ponder This
The real question is: How earnest am I? Busy-ness can sneak up on us. I know—for me—I need to frequently re-calibrate. God’s never ever too busy for me—BUT—have I gotten too busy for HIM? Philippians 4:13 reminds us “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” Even daily making God my priority, my friend. NOTHING is impossible with Him who came to die for us because He wants us with Him FOREVER! And THAT is just WOW!
Our World is in Turmoil.
How are you doing with your relationship with Jesus? Is He your first priority? I hope so. Because…Today could be the day of His return for His own. Nothing else needs to happen in the Biblical calendar. He waits to return–out of mercy that more may come to Him for salvation. For relationship.
Let’s BE ready! Because at that moment—WHEN He returns—there will no longer be time to GET ready.
To God be the Glory.
